IFM Supports Community Football Teams in Muanza, Sofala Province

As part of its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable community development, IFM has donated sports equipment to the football teams of the Galinha Sede and Derrunde Oliveira communities in the Muanza Administrative Post, Sofala Province.

The initiative forms part of IFM’s broader vision of supporting the communities in which it operates by creating opportunities that encourage participation, inclusion and positive social development.

The donation included a total of 34 football kits, comprising jerseys and shorts, with 17 complete sets allocated to each team. In addition, both teams received essential match equipment, including goalkeeper gloves, footballs and captain’s armbands, ensuring they are better equipped for training sessions and competitive matches.

By providing these resources, IFM hopes to remove some of the barriers that often limit participation in organised sport within rural communities.

Football plays an important role in bringing young people together, promoting healthy lifestyles and developing valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, respect and leadership.

Through this initiative, IFM aims to encourage greater youth participation in sport while strengthening the spirit of unity and cooperation within the Galinha Sede and Derrunde Oliveira communities.

The official handover ceremony took place in the Derrunde Oliveira community and was marked by an atmosphere of enthusiasm, appreciation and community pride. Local leaders, community representatives and members of both football teams expressed their gratitude for the support, recognising the positive impact that access to quality sporting equipment can have on local youth.
