Microforest Trains IFM Field Staff

IFM continues to strengthen its operational systems through targeted technical training and digital integration initiatives.

In February 2026, two senior technicians from Microforest travelled to IFM’s plantation administration centre near Gondola in Manica Province to provide hands-on training in the application and implementation of full Microforest system functionality.

IFM subscribes to Microforest, a web-based plantation management platform that supports the full lifecycle of forestry operations — from establishment through to harvesting and reporting.

The training initiative focused on:

• Migrating key data input functions to individual plantation hubs
• Strengthening on-site operational data management
• Improving system integration
• Ensuring full utilisation of platform capabilities

By decentralising certain input processes, the initiative enables greater operational efficiency at plantation level while maintaining system-wide integrity.

The weeklong training programme proved highly valuable for operational management staff.

Enhanced system functionality is expected to:

• Streamline administrative workflow at data input level
• Reduce pressure on the central Planning Department
• Strengthen ERP integration
• Improve management reporting accuracy and speed

This initiative reflects IFM’s continued commitment to operational discipline, data-driven decision-making, and scalable forestry management practices.
